I’m Mick McCaffrey, a Senior Designer and all-round creative from Melbourne. I turn spark‑sized ideas into sharp, intentional design that stands out and sticks around.
For the past decade, I’ve helped brands of every shape and size find their voice, refine their image, and build something that lasts. Every project starts with curiosity and ends with something that feels clear, crafted, and built with purpose.
I believe great design moves people, not just pixels. It should make you think, feel, and remember it. The best part is that moment when a wild idea becomes something real.
Let’s build something brilliant, with a little creative chaos for good measure.

Easy, shoot me an email. I’m always up for a chat to see what we can make happen. Usually, it starts with one meeting to map out scope, budget, and timeline. From there, we’ll shape the brief together and get cracking. I like keeping the process open, collaborative, and transparent, and we’ll work through any concerns as we go.
Pretty much anything that needs thoughtful, creative direction and design. That can mean brand identities, campaigns, websites, packaging, video content, or even art for events. I’m drawn to projects that have energy and a clear intention behind them. If it’s interesting and needs a creative push, I’m in. That being said, if I’m not the right person for the job, I’d be happier recommending someone I know who is.
Every project is different. Simple design work can take a few days, while a full brand rollout or campaign can run over several weeks. I can also do rush work if needed. Once we meet and pin down the scope and goals, I’ll map out a realistic timeline so you always know what to expect.
Absolutely. Over the years I’ve built great relationships with talented people across production, marketing, and manufacturing who I trust and love working with. I’m always happy to recommend them or even manage that part of the process for you, just let me know from the start.
Yes and no. I absolutely love designing for hospitality, it’s fast, expressive, and full of passion, and I’ve been lucky to create some of my best work there. But I’m far from limited to it. I’ve also designed for health and wellness, apparel, cosmetics, and independent consultants. Variety keeps things interesting and it makes the work better.
I always prefer working with people and creating things myself, that’s what design’s all about. That said, AI tools have become a part of the creative landscape, and I keep up with them to see where they can genuinely help. I use AI to fill gaps and handle the mundane, not to replace the creative process. I treat my work like wedding photos; you wouldn’t generate them with AI, but you might use a tool to tidy up a few double chins.
Yes. Most of my work happens remotely these days, so location isn’t much of a barrier. I’ve partnered with clients across Australia and occasionally overseas. Whether it’s Zoom, email, or carrier pigeon, I’ll find a way to keep things easy and connected.
Too much copy. Attention spans are short, you’ve got about five seconds to make an impression before someone scrolls on. Good design should stop people in their tracks, deliver the message, and draw them in quickly. I see so many ads and posters trying to say everything at once, and they end up saying nothing at all. Less copy. More punch.
